These works involved the demolition and dismantling of a series of 6th floor extensions that had been built up off the original roof of a large terraced building in Shoreditch.

FDS were engaged on this project by the Client from feasibility stage. Advice was given as to how to logistically deliver the scheme while adjacent, both next to and underneath, business remained operational. As this developed and funding was secured, FDS were then novated onto a nominated Main Contractor to deliver the works.

Issues with the freeholder meant that the project delivery required an overhaul just days prior to commencement. Rather than utilizing a scaffold and hoist to egress all roof material FDS shifted works to nights, utilising the limited out-of-hours time slot from 0100-0630 a continuous stream of waste material out of the building each night. By shifting to nights, FDS saved what could have been a 6+ week delay into an on-time start and completed strip out within the allotted programme. Operatives also had to withstand a series of storms, ensuring that works were left safely each shift.
