Saville Row

FDS were contracted to remove 8no shopfronts on the prestigious retail street of Saville Row. The shop fronts consisted of marble clad block pillars which supported large glazed screens. At low level mechanical vents were removed from either side of existing doorways.

Much of the work had to be carried out while the retail units remained in operation. From within a hoarding, operatives would remove elements of the structure in a piecemeal fashion, at times permitted only by the movement of customers. Waste material would then be transited to a nominated vacant unit ahead of early morning collections. As works progressed down the street, new bronze shop fronts were installed which added to the care and complexity of the task. Fortunately the project was completed without incident and handed over to a happy client on time.
