FIRST DEMOLITION SERVICES

About

FDS is an enabling works contractor delivering strip-out, demolition, and related works for both main contractors and direct clients across a range of values and sectors. We are just as curious about the ‘why’ of each project as we are about the ‘what’.

Trusted across
every sector

FDS has substantial experience across commercial, retail, hospitality, prime residential and heritage sectors. While the fundamentals of strip-out are consistent, the reality behind ceilings and floors rarely is. Our experience across varied building types allows us to anticipate conditions, minimise surprises, and maintain programme certainty. From modern commercial schemes to Grade I & II listed buildings, we fuse controlled removal with the care and judgement required to protect what remains.

Quality regardless of size

We equip our teams with the same quality of information and planning regardless of whether the project is for one week or six months. Strong delivery from FDS will set any project on a pathway to success, and we aim to be remembered by our clients for exactly that.

Knowledge measured in the Millions

Every man-hour worked is a learning opportunity – a data-point in an increasingly large network of inputs. Aided by strong analytical foundations and its in-house app, FDS is constantly refining its methods to improve efficiency, safety, program calculations, risk mitigation and competitiveness. When we put forward a proposal, it’s backed by science and certainty – robust, accurate and deliverable.

Trusted. Tested. True. Refined by experience. Grown purposefully. Built for the long term.

OUR PEOPLE

At FDS we self-deliver every project with retained site-based personnel. That means that our clients are truly being served by FDS every time. We have a strong culture of internal promotion within delivery teams, which has enabled us to retain and grow our talent pool over the years.

Will Sarhangian

Managing Director

As MD, Will touches all sides of the business. His main impact is in customer and project origination, delivery strategies and data. Will was an economist and seasoned debater in his earlier life. Some say he hasn’t given up either. While there is no true ‘outside of work’, Will has a young family, is a passionate Arsenal fan, poker player and restaurant goer.

As Technical Director, Greg is responsible for a lot of what makes the business robust. He leads the technical sides of tender submissions, mobilisations, and annual compliance audits. He is originally from Kansas and worked in broadcasting in his previous life. He also has a young family and has seen his NFL team rise to dynastic success since his move across the Atlantic. Coincidence?

Dain Gibbs
Dain Gibbs
Operations Director

As Operations Manager, Dain is a driving force behind the smooth delivery of all live FDS sites, keeping everything running like a well oiled machine (and making it look easy). From site audits and supervisor reviews to resource planning and supporting supply chain growth, he’s firmly hands-on where it counts. With a background in demolition at a leading competitor, he brings a sharp eye and a wealth of industry know how to the team. Outside of work, he has strong views on boxing, MMA and the Jordan/Lebron debate.

How we do business

Over the last decade, we have learned that while construction is often defined by programme, risk and pressure, it is ultimately a people business.

Many of the challenges that arise on projects are situational rather than personal. We aim to bring the perspective, judgement and experience needed to navigate them constructively.

That same experience shapes our decision-making; knowing when to adapt to circumstances and when to stand firm behind the right course of action. When friction arises, it is only ever in pursuit of the best outcome for the wider team and the project as a whole. Our portfolio and longstanding client relationships reflect that.
