FDS were given full principal contractor role under General Demolition’s banner for the initial demolition of temporary trading structure (TTS) previously occupied by Fenwick as part of a major redevelopment and new build. The building was a modular, steel structure spanning two stories and provided Fenwick with 23,000 sqft of temporary space. First Demolition quickly established a site perimeter upon negotiation with the council and temporarily suspended 40% of council car park spaces. The demolition itself was straight forward – utilising a 35T excavator with a sheer and 21T with a grab, the building and its foundations were dismantled and removed within 3 weeks, without incident.
The key to a speedy completion was utilising the space to our advantage. Using two machines enabled constant clearance and kept site safety conditions to the highest standard.
