Palace Green

First Demolition was awarded the strip out subcontract on this extremely prestigious project. This listed property was situated on a private street overlooking Kensington Palace Gardens and is currently the most expensive private residence ever sold in the UK.

The works were extremely delicate as all original features of the house were being retained by the new occupants. Only re-fitted fixtures and features were taken out. The project broadly included wall-paper strip, removal of marble cladding, removal of bathrooms and kitchens, careful removal of dropped ceilings, formation of openings for new doors and the skimming of all wall and floor tiling.

FDS were limited in their vehicular movements to and from site and as such engaged in careful sequencing of the works to reduce the amount of waste build up on site at all times.

Architect drawings had to be studied alongside historic as-builts to ensure all original features were identified and retained.
